Jamel Debbouze to Host Charity Gala for Morocco Earthquake Victims

Jamel Debbouze is multiplying initiatives to come to the aid of Morocco after the deadly earthquake of Friday, September 8. The Franco-Moroccan comedian announced on Wednesday the upcoming organization of a charity gala to support the victims of this tragedy.
After donating blood in Marrakech, Jamel Debbouze plans to organize a major charity gala in solidarity with the victims of the earthquake that has already killed nearly 3,000 and injured more than 5,000. Co-organized with the town of Trappes (Yvelines), the event will take place on Sunday, September 17 at 3 pm in the performance hall of this French town, a press release indicates.
For the occasion, the actor has invited six comedians from his Jamel Comedy Club to perform on stage for an hour, the note reveals, revealing the names of Ilyes Djadel, Redouanne Harjane, Meriem Benoua, JB Diallo, Nordine Ganso and Mahe.
"Currently alongside the Moroccans, I am in awe of the wave of solidarity between the French and Moroccan peoples and I want to contribute to it in my own way. With the city of Trappes and the Secours populaire, a charity close to my heart that I benefited from as a child, we have decided to unite our efforts to allow the people of Trappes to express their generosity and solidarity," explained Jamel Debbouze in the press release.
Tickets for this gala are available for a flat rate of 5 euros. The proceeds will be donated to Secours populaire, which is already intervening in Morocco, to help it in its humanitarian action.
