Jack Lang Praises Morocco’s COVID-19 Response and Mask Production Efforts

Morocco’s management of the covid-19 pandemic continues to be praised by various personalities. Jack Lang, president of the Arab World Institute (IMA), said he was admiring of the feats accomplished by Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, in the management of the covid-19 crisis.
"Bravo Morocco". This is how Jack Lang began his letter, addressed to the President of the National Foundation of Museums (FNM) of Morocco, Mehdi Qotbi. We are "impressed by Morocco’s determination to ensure mass production of masks. When a political power wants to, it can," said the president of the IMA, in this correspondence.
On the cultural level, Jack Lang stressed that the current health crisis "can be an opportunity to reinvent the policy of art. This is a historic opportunity to accomplish a real cultural New Deal," he estimated. He bases his hope on Roosevelt’s program which, after the 1929 crisis, was based "on the certainty that the arts could have a leverage effect in times of crisis", both in terms of job creation and in restoring hope to Americans.
He then expressed the wish that on "this beautiful project, France and Morocco can work closely together, hand in hand".
