Islamophobic Graffiti Found on Two Mosques in Aix-en-Provence During Ramadan

Islamophobic tags were written on two mosques located in Aix-en-Provence, and this during the month of Ramadan. These inscriptions were discovered last Monday at the entrance and in front of the two places of worship.
"Islam kills", "Islam out of Europe". These are the Islamophobic messages that the faithful discovered when coming to pray at the mosque. Even though the tags were immediately erased by the municipal services, the public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation but does not currently have any elements that would allow the identification of the authors. There are neither direct witnesses, nor even any surveillance camera images to put the investigators on the trail of the authors of these tags.
"I condemn with the utmost firmness these messages of hatred and I sincerely hope that their authors can be identified and brought to justice," said Anne-Laurence Petel, deputy (LREM) of the Bouches-du-Rhône. "These messages are contrary to our laws and our values. Brotherhood and freedom of worship are pillars of our Republic, engraved in our Constitution and fundamental to living together," she added. She assured the Muslims of "her support and friendship in the face of these vile tags".
