ISIS 'Executioner of Raqqa' Denies Beheading Role in First Interview

A Belgian fighter, "in charge of beheadings", after four and a half years in the ranks of ISIS, spoke out for the first time about his mission within the terrorist organization.

Nicknamed "the executioner of Raqqa", Anouar Haddouchi is one of the 79 Belgians still detained in Syria by the Kurds, reports Paris Match Belgique. While shocking revelations were expected from him, the Belgian fighter rejected any responsibility for the role attributed to him within the terrorist organization.

According to the investigations, the fighter is said to have played a key role within the terrorist organization, ISIS. They also reveal that "the executioner of Raqqa" is accused of having transferred, from an account opened in the United Kingdom, money to Mohammed Abrini to finance the Paris attacks of November 2015 and Brussels in 2016. In his defense, Anouar Haddouchi claims to have "no connection with these people". "You are surprised, I am just as much. I don’t know how it happened," he continues, with a smiling face and no remorse.

"The executioner of Raqqa" also confides that if he were (really) concerned by these accusations, he would have already apologized with regrets. "But I am not concerned. And I cannot apologize for others," he says.

A lawyer from Raqqa, met on the spot, supports, for his part, that he was in charge of the beheadings with a Briton, nicknamed "Johnny the Briton". Anouar Haddouchi or "Souleymane El Belgiki", despite these accusations, revealed nothing, even if the lawyer described how they then placed the heads of the beheaded on spikes, before the executions. "I have never heard of a Belgian who was in charge of the executions. It’s not me, I tell you directly. The other Belgians haven’t heard that Belgians were carrying out executions either. It doesn’t exist. It’s a lie," he added without further details.
