Iran’s Shiite Conversion Campaign Targets Moroccan Women in Belgium
If there is a trend developing in Belgium, it is the conversion of many Moroccan women residing in Brussels, Liège, Charleroi to Shiism. The Islamic Republic of Iran would be the sponsor of this indoctrination operation.
At least a hundred Moroccan women residing in Belgium, originally from the northern cities of Morocco and the Rif mountains, have been converted to Shiism by Iran. This is revealed by the daily Assabah which relies on well-informed sources. This conversion is part of a well-crafted strategy. A large part of these Moroccan women, born Muslims and therefore Maliki Sunnis, are offered to stay in Iran and in Shiite regions of Iraq, with the ultimate goal: to instill "these Shiite rites" in them. The sponsor of this operation, which would be Iran, recruits these women in mosques and Muslim places of worship they frequented in Brussels, Liège, Charleroi and Antwerp. Moreover, marriage ceremonies of this type have been organized in Brussels. The guests even found the rituals "bizarre" and "totally foreign to Moroccan customs". Marriage ceremonies "financed by foreign sources," we learn.
This indoctrination operation worries both the Belgian authorities and the members of the Moroccan community. The sharp increase in the number of "Shiite study centers", which are increasingly organizing events, with the undeclared aim of "promoting" their cult, does not reassure them either. Moroccans established in Belgium fear that this vision of Shiism specific to the Iranian regime will spread to northern Morocco.
