Intoxicated Man Vandalizes French Music Conservatory, Faces Deportation

A young man of Moroccan origin, in a state of intoxication, vandalized the municipal music conservatory of Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne). Arrested and then presented before the competent judge, he was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence. A ban from French territory for a period of five years was pronounced against him.
The incident occurred last Sunday. The 34-year-old man, completely drunk, damaged the premises of the municipal music conservatory, located in the Carmes alley, with an iron bar, reports La Dépêche. The suspect first broke a ground floor window, which alerted the video surveillance operators of the municipal police.
A national police patrol quickly arrived at the scene. Refusing to surrender, the man in his thirties broke a second window with a chair. He was eventually arrested and taken into custody at the Montauban police station. When questioned by the police, he admitted to the facts, confessing that he "felt like breaking things."
Originally from the city of Oujda in Morocco, the accused is a homeless person illegally staying on French territory. Presented on Tuesday before the Montauban court, in a plea bargain procedure, he was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence. A ban from French territory for a period of five years was pronounced against him.
