Interpol Manhunt: Moroccan Fugitive Sought for Brazen Daylight Murder in France

Interpol has just issued a red notice against Wissam Zaazoui, a 43-year-old man of Moroccan origin, suspected of having shot dead a 36-year-old man in broad daylight in a street in Sochaux (Doubs) on June 27. He is said to have taken refuge in Morocco.
Born in Montbéliard (Doubs), Wissam Zaazoui is wanted for murder and participation in a criminal conspiracy with a view to preparing a crime, Interpol states on its website. The suspect is the subject of a red notice, which allows "a request to be sent to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate a person and proceed with their arrest [...]," explains Interpol, as quoted by France 3 Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
"In order not to close off any leads and give the investigation every chance, we have requested the extension of the European warrant to the international level, with Interpol," said the Montbéliard public prosecutor.
The events date back to June 27, when the suspect is said to have fired several shots at the victim before fleeing on foot. The man is said to have already left France and taken refuge in Morocco, his country of origin, after a brief stay in Spain. The quadragenarian is known to the police for having been involved in several cases of armed violence.
