Île-de-France President Calls for Ban on Veiled Photos on Transit Cards

Valérie Pécresse urges the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, to require "bare head" photos on Navigo cards. She therefore demands photos where the faces will be uncovered.
"In the interest of preserving public order and combating fraud, I ask you to take all necessary measures, by order or by decree, to maintain the requirement of a "bare head" photograph on travel documents, as is the case for other identification documents," demands the President of Île-de-France, Valérie Pécresse.
For the Defender of Rights, only a regulatory text can legally justify imposing a "bare head" photo. Hence the need for a decree or a law, recalls Le Figaro.
According to the head of the regional Parisian executive, "the measure seems proportionate and the objective legitimate, in the sense of the jurisprudence of the Council of State according to which religious freedom can be temporarily and temporarily restricted, precisely for reasons of security protection and fight against fraud," reports the same source.
