Iconic Italian Designer Romeo Gigli to Open Luxury Riad in Marrakech

For his new return to the fashion spotlight, the famous Italian designer Romeo Gigli, whose most influential period spanned from the 1980s to the late 1990s, has chosen Marrakech.
Romeo Gigli, 74, is making a comeback in the fashion world. He plans to open the Riad Romeo, a hotel-boutique that promises to be a confluence of his myriad inspirations in Marrakech, a city as dynamic and complex as his creations, according to fashion network, adding that this new creative space is not just a hotel; but also a testament to the Italian designer’s unwavering belief in the power of design to tell stories, bring cultures together and inspire beauty. "From the serene landscapes of his Italian heritage to the lively souks of Morocco, Gigli’s creations have always transcended borders, marrying the ethereal with the structured," notes the publication.
Born in 1949 in Castel Bolognese, Romeo Gigli is a great Italian fashion designer. His most influential period spanned from the 1980s to the late 1990s. His collections are known worldwide. Some of his creations have also been exhibited in museums in London, New York and Antwerp. In addition to fashion, he works in the field of interior design. He has designed crystal objects and lamps.
