Huawei Expands Market Presence in Morocco Despite Global Challenges

The desire to occupy the Moroccan commercial space is growing more and more with the terminal manufacturer Huawei. The Chinese firm, which intends to further mark its presence, does not skimp on the means: marketing, communication, deployment of solutions, product launches, nothing is left to chance.
The US embargo on China, to prevent it from collaborating with American companies, will have been a good deal for Huawei, which has generated sustained enthusiasm among customers who have discovered other advantages with this brand. "We have never sold as many products as during the buzz period. It was therefore a kind of pseudo-crisis," confirms Yassine El Khabbaz, Huawei Morocco’s marketing director. To further convince, Huawei claims to have sold 240 million smartphones worldwide in 2019. This makes it the second largest equipment manufacturer in the world after Samsung and ahead of Apple, according to L’Économiste.
In 2019, sales reached a growth of 179%; and on the P Series, they are around 376%. The Chinese manufacturer has also invested $15 billion in 2019, or more than 10% of its annual turnover, in order to accelerate innovation.
In Morocco, Huawei claims sales growth of around 179% thanks to a reinforced network of services and sales outlets over the past two years. To capitalize on its achievements and gain even more market share in 2020 in Morocco, the telecom equipment manufacturer is betting on the development of its new ecosystem, Huawei Mobile Service (HMS).
The challenge is to develop its own applications. And the Moroccan subsidiary believes that the services and applications of its parent company will quickly establish themselves on the Moroccan market. A new range is also being launched by the Moroccan subsidiary, to facilitate deployment and popularize the applications with the greatest number.
