Homeless Moroccan Man Arrested for String of Burglaries in French Town

A 32-year-old Moroccan, homeless but often located in Figeac, was arrested on Wednesday while driving a stolen car. Presumed author of burglaries in several shops and restaurants in the city, he was presented on Friday before the Cahors criminal court.
The investigators of the Figeac gendarmerie apprehended the Moroccan, considered as the author of several burglaries in the city center of Figeac. During his custody, the accused admitted to having committed seven aggravated thefts. He was presented on Friday as part of an immediate appearance before the Cahors public prosecutor’s office, reports Actu.
The Moroccan homeless man, already convicted three times including once for theft, requested a delay to prepare his defense. The case has therefore been postponed to June 23, 2023. Pending his trial, the defendant will remain in pre-trial detention at the Montauban prison. According to the Lot public prosecutor, Alexandre Rossi, he faces up to 7 years in prison.
