It’s heating up in Moroccan airports

The buzz is palpable in Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier and Agadir. Dozens of delegations are arriving daily from Africa, Europe, the United States and Asia. While the majority of passengers are supporters coming to attend the matches, the airports are also welcoming many journalists, technicians and representatives of official sponsors, arriving with significant logistics.

The Mohammed V airport in Casablanca is confirming its status as a strategic hub. It has absorbed 33.7% of the total traffic, or nearly 300,000 passengers in ten days. Royal Air Maroc is playing a key role in this dynamic by multiplying direct connections with African capitals to facilitate the transport of fans.

To cope with this 13% increase in air movements (7,327 flights recorded during the period), the National Airports Office (ONDA) has strengthened its coordination with the security services, customs and local authorities. The objective is to ensure the fluidity of the checks despite the density of the traffic. December 18 was indeed a historic peak, serving as a successful full-scale test for the Kingdom’s logistical organization on the eve of the competition.
