These photos were obtained as part of an investigation conducted in 2020 by the Drug Trafficking Coordination Body (OCON-South) and the special command of the Civil Guard in charge of the fight against drug trafficking in the strait, which no longer exists since 2022, it is specified.

The investigators obtained these images after wiretapping and analyzing the phone of one of the drug traffickers arrested in recent years. This information made it possible to prove that this patrol boat of the Royal Moroccan Navy "served as a mother ship to the Spanish narco-boats and pleasure boats" dedicated to drug trafficking, details the investigation report. This collaboration between Moroccan patrol boats and drug traffickers "had never been proven. It is an unprecedented discovery," investigators said.
