Great Mosque of Paris Launches Islamic Finance Course for Students and Professionals

The Great Mosque of Paris is launching through the Al-Ghazali Institute a short and certifying training course on Islamic finance, thus filling an existing void in France. Entrepreneurs and students can participate.
A short six-day training course to introduce the general public to the principles, challenges and opportunities of Islamic finance. This is the initiative of the Al-Ghazali Institute, the training body of the Great Mosque of Paris. This training is organized with the help of Eltexys, a consulting firm specialized in Islamic finance and with an international network of experts. The target? Students from Bac + 2 and above, professionals in banking and insurance, and business leaders.
"The objective is to provide keys to understanding Islamic finance. This can be aimed at entrepreneurs who want to start businesses in this sector or students who want to stand out in the job market, for example," says Anouar Hassoune, president of the Eltexys consulting firm, a partner of the Al-Ghazali Institute in this training. According to his explanations, the idea is to make students understand that the underlying principles of the SSE are close to the ethics of Muslims. "Ethical finance is a global issue, not just for believers," he added. The first training cycle will begin on May 22.
Four training modules have been selected: Muslim business law; Islamic Banking and Insurance (Takaful); disintermediated finance (funds, sukuk); and social and solidarity finance and technological innovations in ethical finance. Participants will receive the courses on weekends. Seminars carried out in partnership with national and international financial institutions will also be scheduled.
