Giant World Map at French Fair Sparks Outrage Over Missing Morocco

A giant map of the planet was exhibited at the Montpellier International Fair without the map of Morocco, sparking the outrage of Moroccans in the city and Moroccan authorities. The organizers cited an oversight by the designer.
The incident was denounced by a Moroccan exhibitor who noticed the absence of his country on the giant world map in a hall of the Fair, organized from October 7 to 17, on the theme of the Celts, reports Actu.
A blunder that escaped the organizers during the eleven days of the event. But it was without counting on the vigilance of this Moroccan exhibitor, who informed the Moroccan community in the city. The matter was then brought to the attention of the Moroccan consul in Montpellier, who in turn reported it to the Moroccan ambassador in France, in Paris and then to the office of King Mohammed VI, the newspaper points out.
Informed of the diplomatic incident created by this omission, the management of the Montpellier International Fair had the poster removed for the remainder of the event, citing "an oversight" by the designer. This exhibition was well attended, the same source points out, specifying that 100,000 visitors walked the halls and aisles of the exhibition park in Pérols.
