Gad Elmaleh Cites Closed Theaters as Reason for Postponing Morocco Tour

Moroccan-Canadian comedian Gad Elmaleh explains why he is not organizing shows in Moroccan cities, particularly Rabat and Casablanca, despite strong demand.
The main reason is "the non-opening, until now, of the Grand Théâtre de Rabat and the Grand Théâtre de Casablanca," Gad Elmaleh explained in a post on his Instagram account. He regrets that these "magnificent theaters remain closed." The comedian is trying to understand why this closure is prolonging. "Message to the Moroccan people. I receive hundreds of messages every day about my coming on tour in Morocco. I am at a loss to see our magnificent theaters in Casablanca and Rabat still closed. Does anyone have an answer? I love you. Gad," he wrote in a story.
Gad had meanwhile made an appeal to the authorities to open the two grand theaters. He had expressed his enthusiasm to inaugurate in his hometown, Casablanca, what he calls "one of the most beautiful theaters in the world." He confided that he had had the honor of visiting it and considered it "a gift for all Moroccan and foreign artists." His wish, he will say, is that the Casablanca theater opens its doors soon, because it is "a magnificent theater, worthy of Morocco." His last show in Casablanca was more than a year ago.
