Fugitive Killer of French Family Still at Large After 6 Years, Victims’ Relatives Demand Justice

Six years have not been enough to erase from Myriam Kabdani’s memory the murder of her sister Fouzia and her nephews by Abdelkarim El Kadaoui. He, who was her sister’s husband, has still not gone to prison for his crime.
In June 2013, Abdelkarim El Kadaoui murdered Fouzia, his 29-year-old wife, who was initiating divorce proceedings. He also killed their three children aged 2, 8 and 9, reports francebleu.fr. Sentenced to life imprisonment, he fled to Morocco. This Friday, July 19, 2019, the victims’ family participated in the demonstration against femicides, to demand, once again, prison for the murderer.
In November 2017, Abdelkarim El Kadaoui was tried, in absentia, by the Drôme Assize Court and sentenced to life imprisonment. Three years earlier, Myriam Kabdani had indicated that France had intercepted the murderer, was going to proceed with his arrest but that it was blocked due to a diplomatic conflict with Morocco.
These episodes will increase the feeling of dissatisfaction in Myriam Kabdani. The young woman writes to French President Emmanuel Macron. In response, President Macron’s Chief of Staff assures her that she will be informed of any follow-up to her intervention.
She will then launch a petition addressed to the King of Morocco. 80,000 people have already signed it online on the website change.org. Through the Facebook page "Justice for Fouzia and her three children", she intensifies the mobilization. "For us, it’s no longer possible. We move forward, without moving forward. Because this story is there, because we have been deprived, by the choice of a single person, of four members of our family, the pain is always present. We don’t intend to stop there," assured Myriam Kabdani, who also calls on the French and Moroccan authorities to play their part.
