Fugitive French Drug Lord Extradited from Morocco After Fleeing Sentence

Roberto Blanchedent has been on the run again since September 19. Placed under judicial supervision, he had the obligation to report once a day to the police station, after the release he benefited from on September 12.
Blanchedent, 31, has disappeared from the radar since September 19, the day the ruling was handed down against him, reports Le télégramme. He was sentenced on appeal to seven years in prison for his participation in a major drug trafficking network, dismantled in the Kercado district of Vannes in 2015.
In October 2015, the police had arrested Roberto Blanchedent, suspecting him of having "industrialized the drug trafficking in Vannes". His lawyer, Me Amar Bouaou, had obtained his release.
Without waiting for his trial, the fugitive went to Morocco. On May 27, 2017, the Court sentenced him in absentia to eight years in prison, and two international arrest warrants were issued against him.
A conviction will also be handed down in 2018: Roberto receives four months in prison in absentia for a crime of escape. What next? He will be indicted in a second drug case in Vannes.
That same year, the "drug baron" had been extradited from Morocco. Arrived in France, he stayed in the Rennes prison awaiting his new trial, recalls the same source. After the hearing on June 20, the deliberation should be effective on September 19, but no trace of the accused.
