Fugitive Drug Lord Faces 15-Year Sentence as French Authorities Crack Down on Cannabis Ring

The deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Nîmes requested, on Tuesday, November 10, up to 15 years in prison and issued an arrest warrant against a Nîmes man on the run in Morocco. This man would be the head of a major drug trafficking network.
In June 2019, the Nîmes Research Section in coordination with the GIGN had arrested a team on the A9 during a go-fast. More than 100 kilos of cannabis had been seized.
The prosecution has demanded sentences ranging from 4 to 15 years in prison for the fugitive man and detention for most of the eight defendants, reports Objectif gard. The defense has begun to present its pleadings before the criminal court.
