French World Cup Winner Adil Rami Signs with Russian Premier League’s Bottom Club

The French international of Moroccan origin, Adil Rami, has joined the bottom club of the Russian championship, on a contract that runs until the end of this season.
Adil Rami didn’t waste any time. As soon as he terminated his contract with the Turkish club Fenerbahçe, he signed in Russia. He thus joins the roster of the last club in the Russian championship.
At 34, Adil Rami, the French central defender, was navigating between the stands and the bench. He had become a shadow of his former self. For Le Parisien, he became a world champion without playing a single minute of the competition. Since this crowning in Russia, the Franco-Moroccan player has not been called up to the French national team again.
During his brief stint in Turkey, Rami only played seven games, six of which were Cup games. Worse, the only league match he started in mid-September resulted in a substitution at half-time.
Following his consecration with the Blues, the former Fréjus town hall employee experienced a desert crossing in 2019, marked by his stormy separation from Canadian actress Pamela Anderson, against a backdrop of domestic violence, and his dismissal from Olympique de Marseille for having lied about his absence.
After participating in the championships of France, Spain, Italy and Turkey, the Franco-Moroccan player joins his fifth championship in Russia.
