French Supermarkets Shift to Domestic Produce Amid Coronavirus Restrictions

Due to the coronavirus epidemic and the strengthening of containment rules, including the closure of open markets, Moroccan fruits and vegetables, which are very popular in the country, will no longer be able to cross the borders of France.
In all hypermarkets and supermarkets, products of French origin will now be highlighted to limit the risk of spreading the new coronavirus. "All the chains are switching to French supply. Foreign products present on the shelves will be sold off; but after that, there will be no supply outside of France," explains to Les Échos the Federation of Commerce and Distribution, which emphasizes the maintenance of affordable prices.
The announcement by Prime Minister Édouard Philippe on the strengthening of containment rules and the closure of open markets has led to a wave of questions in the agricultural sector with the objective of 100% French fruits and vegetables!
