French Streamer Zack Nani Revolutionizes Sports Broadcasting with Saudi Pro League Rights

Zack Nani, Zakaria Haddad in civil status, has just made history in French sports broadcasting. The 30-year-old Lyon streamer has purchased the broadcasting rights to the Saudi Pro League, the Saudi football championship, to broadcast matches for free on Twitch and YouTube.

With over 800,000 subscribers on YouTube and 600,000 on Twitch, Zack Nani wants to revolutionize French sports broadcasting. The influencer had expressed in a press release "a strong desire to offer an alternative to the classic broadcasting models". The concept of the "Zack en roue libre" that he had developed is part of this dynamic. It was a question of conducting a long live interview with a personality on social networks, and of answering the public’s questions in a discussion thread. Several personalities from the world of sport such as the judoka Joan-Benjamin Gaba, the Lebrun brothers in table tennis, the handball player Nedim Remili or the footballer Eden Hazard, have taken part in the exercise.

Youtuber Squeezie, comedian Malik Bentalha, chef Xavier Pincemin or journalist Samuel Étienne have also answered the signature question "Who are you, where do you come from and what is your educational background?" with which the Franco-Moroccan starts his interviews. In total, nearly 250 personalities have been welcomed by Zack Nani since 2017. "My greatest pride? Having managed to receive Karim Benzema in my show just after his Ballon d’Or (in 2022), the first interview he was able to give after that. Honestly, I’m very proud of it," he exclaims to Parisien.

Zack Nani grew up between Villeurbanne, the United States and Morocco. After a master’s degree in digital marketing, he created his own web TV and developed his "Zack en roue libre" interview concept, which was a great success. The Lyonnais then opened "La Kazdalerie", a fast food establishment that offers msemen, a Moroccan sandwich. "What impresses me about him is his ability to reinvent himself. On the Internet, stars come and go, but Zack has been among the leaders in this field for 10-15 years. He started on Call of Duty with guys who have probably disappeared since, and he has renewed his formats and improved in quality to become a medium in his own right with a large team. All this by relying on the means at his disposal," testifies his friend and collaborator Charly Moriceau, alias SeriousCharly on X.

Everything seems to be going well for Zack Nani, who has just acquired the broadcasting rights to the Saudi championship and will broadcast three matches per day for free on YouTube and Twitch. "Profitability is possible. It is the paid subscriptions and the support of the public that would possibly allow to cover part of the costs. 250,000 views on YouTube, I can assure you, that brings in money..." explains the thirty-year-old. "I don’t have the pretension to say that I’m coming to revolutionize football in France. I’m just trying to do my part... And above all, I want to have fun, create something, try, explore. As I’ve always done in my career." The streamer plans to turn to other championships if the experience with the Saudi Pro League is successful.
