French Schools Abroad Consider Charging Full Tuition Despite Distance Learning

In this context marked by confinement and distance learning, the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) is considering having parents pay the remaining school fees.
"We must maintain tuition fees, as the teams are working and we cannot in any way risk weakening your high school which will have to be able to resume its activity quickly and sustainably as soon as possible," says Olivier Brochet, director of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) in a video message addressed to the educational communities, students and their parents.
He says he is aware of the impact of this crisis on the economic situation of families, whether they are facing additional costs related to childcare, or are directly affected in their income. This is why, "for the establishments under the direct management of the Agency, I have given instructions to the administrative and financial directors to examine with care and benevolence the requests that would be made by families in difficulty," he affirms.
Regarding the establishments directly managed by the AEFE, "we will study all the possibilities of deferred payment and installment plans to help families," specifies Olivier Brochet.
