French Renewable Energy Firms Explore Moroccan Market Opportunities

At the initiative of the French investment bank Bpi France, more than fifteen French companies are staying in Casablanca from February 21 to 25, to explore opportunities related to green energies and diversify their clientele in Morocco.
The mission organized in partnership with the French Agency for the Environment and Energy Management (ADEME) and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco, aims to show investors the business climate in Morocco and conduct market studies, paving the way for short-term expansion plans.
Titled "Explore & Match Industry 4.0 and Energy Transition Morocco", the prospecting mission will give French companies operating in the renewable energy sector an overview of the market, according to a Bpifrance press release. This program is part of the bank’s strategy to strengthen its foothold in Africa and diversify its activities on the continent.
For the organizers, Morocco is a "commercial, logistics and financial hub" for Africa. A strategic location with access to both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean makes Morocco a gateway to Africa, the note specifies.
Planned activities include industrial site visits, seminars with Moroccan and French officials and the local public/private business ecosystem, a time for exchanges with French Foreign Trade Advisors and an individual business meeting program.
"Bpifrance’s ambition is to foster the emergence of sustainable partnerships between Moroccan and French companies in a logic of co-investment and co-innovation. This will also be an opportunity to celebrate the first action of Bpifrance’s new North Africa regional office based in Casablanca, which offers a new gateway to the North African region for French companies," said Pedro Novo, Executive Director in charge of Export at Bpifrance.
