French Police Seize 22 Kilos of Moroccan Cannabis in Cross-Border Drug Bust

Their scheme was unmasked by the law enforcement authorities. Some 22 kilos of drugs were seized last week by the French police on board a van. Its occupants were going to pick up Moroccan cannabis in southern Spain before selling it in France.
The drug traffickers had been under surveillance for several months because of their incessant back and forth trips to southern Spain and more precisely to Malaga. At least once a month, reports the newspaper Nice Matin.
The police found 22 kilos of drugs on the roof of this van which was traveling on the A8 on the border of the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes, the newspaper specifies. During this operation, two other cars, a scout car and a follower car, were also stopped by the police.
The police were surprised by the quantity found in this Iveco van, the investment would have required only 44,000 euros for an estimated retail sale at double. Very little, it is estimated, for the risk incurred.
All the traffickers, four in number, were placed in police custody pending their appearance before the courts.
