French Muslims to Celebrate Mawlid Nabawi on November 9-10

The night of November 9 to 10, 2019 marks the celebration of the Mawlid Nabawi of the year 1441, according to a press release from the Union of Mosques of France (UMF).
In this press release, the Union of Mosques of France emphasized the importance of this celebration, which, it recalls, is marked by Quranic readings, songs, prayers and meditations on the work of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This celebration, according to the UMF, is also a moment of transmission of authentic values to future generations that must be preserved more than ever from the deviant readings of the prophetic heritage.
Furthermore, the UMF reiterates its call to imams and teachers to undertake a profound revision in the teaching of the life of the Prophet in order to reduce the disproportionate place occupied by moments of conflict and war, to make way for the most representative and structuring aspects of the work of the Prophet and his message of Peace, Love and Mercy.
In view of the difficult context the country is going through, calls for vigilance are being made to the faithful and the authorities. "In consultation with the public authorities, necessary measures to secure the meetings and spiritual manifestations of this celebration must be put in place," the same press release points out.
As part of this celebration, the UMF "raises prayers for the peace, security and prosperity of our country and for more solidarity, brotherhood and harmony among all our fellow citizens."
