French Muslims to Celebrate Eid al-Adha on July 31 Amid COVID-19 Precautions

Like other countries around the world, France celebrates the Eid al-Adha festival this Friday, July 31.
In a press release, the "Rassemblement des musulmans de France" (RMF), while wishing "a good and happy Eid al-Adha to all Muslim women and men in France", invited them "to be extremely vigilant during these blessed days, with the strictest respect for barrier gestures and social distancing rules".
This year, Muslims in France will celebrate "Eid al-Adha" on Friday, July 31, 2020, corresponding to the 10th day of the Hijri month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1441 H, in remembrance of the sacrifice of our father Ibrahim, Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him.
On this occasion, the "Rassemblement des Musulmans de France" (RMF) wishes a good and happy Eid al-Adha to all Muslim women and men in France, and prays to God that He may accept our acts of worship and devotion.
The RMF also extends its best wishes for peace and prosperity to all French women and men.
Given the exceptional context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the RMF calls on Muslims in France to be extremely vigilant during these blessed days, with the strictest respect for barrier gestures and social distancing rules.
In this regard, the RMF reminds that, for better organization and better reception in the approved Slaughterhouses, the ritual sacrifice can be spread over the three days of Eid al-Adha, especially since these days coincide this year with the end of the week.
Similarly, the RMF calls on the managers of the Slaughterhouses to be extremely rigorous in the organization of the ritual slaughter, in compliance with all the recommendations of the health authorities. Everything must be done to prevent the slaughter sites from becoming clusters during these Eid days.
The RMF also calls on the managers of places of worship to organize the Eid prayer in compliance with the rules of social distancing, in order to welcome the faithful in the best possible conditions of health safety. As the reception capacity is reduced during this period, it would be appropriate to plan, if necessary, two Eid prayer services, spaced a few minutes apart.
Finally, we pray to God that the coming period will be one of social harmony for better "living together" between the different components of the national community.
