French Muslim Council Unveils Plan to Reform Worship Organization and Funding

The French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) wants to move forward on the organization and financing of Muslim worship in France. The organization has developed an action plan in which priority is given to the training of religious and associative leaders.
In a press release, the CFCM indicates that it will continue this reflection by mobilizing its members and its staff in all the departments of France. It intends to do so in a spirit of openness and listening, with the desire to share its experience and expertise on the various files of Muslim worship. The CFCM is convinced of the need to evolve the organization and financing of Muslim worship, in order to be able to provide the most appropriate responses to the expectations of Muslims in France and their fellow citizens.
The priority of the council is the training of religious and associative leaders, commensurate with the missions entrusted to them. "This training must allow them to master the means of transmitting knowledge and values useful for the cohesion of our country and for its progress," explains the CFCM, adding that combating radicalization and protecting future generations from extremist propaganda and the followers of disorder should be at the heart of the objectives of this training.
The organization chaired by Mohammed Moussaoui also states that improving the conditions of Muslim religious practice in France requires a better understanding of the French context and a contextualized reading of the reference texts.
