French Muslim Council Condemns Teacher’s Beheading, Calls for Action Against Extremism

In a tweet, the president of the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) condemned the beheading of a teacher in the Paris region on Friday evening. He called for mobilization against "obscurantism, hatred and violence" after this tragedy.
On Twitter, Mohammed Messaoui, the president of the representative body of the Muslim faith in France, said he was shocked by the barbaric murder of a teacher at the Bois-d’Aulne college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. "Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and loved ones," he wrote. Furthermore, still in his tweet, Mr. Messaoui affirmed that we must mobilize forcefully against obscurantism, hatred and violence. He criticized those who seek to justify a heinous crime on the basis of caricatures of the Prophet of Islam. In conclusion, the president of the CFCM reaffirmed that nothing, absolutely nothing, could justify the murder of a man who gave a lesson.
The murder of this teacher occurred on Friday afternoon. Following this tragedy, elements of the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) of the city intervened and tried to apprehend a suspicious individual roaming near the Bois d’Aulne college where they discovered the victim. As for the murderer, he was seen 200 meters further away in Eragny-sur-Oise (Val-d’Oise). He was armed with a knife and threatened them. The police opened fire to kill him.
A Twitter account is now closed, as its author rejoices at having avenged the one who dared to belittle the Prophet Muhammad. Better, he shows a photo of the victim’s head followed by a message threatening the French president. All these clues are now of great interest to the investigators.
