French Mosque Closed Permanently Over Alleged Terrorism Indoctrination

By decision of the Ministry of the Interior, the prefecture of Sarthe will proceed with the definitive closure of the Allonnes mosque which welcomes some 300 worshippers. The leaders are accused of legitimizing terrorism or the use of armed jihad.
In a press release, the prefecture stated that the procedure initiated follows repeated denunciations, specifying that "this place also houses a Koranic school welcoming about 110 children in front of whom armed jihad has been valued and which therefore constitutes a place of indoctrination".
As a result, "under the terms of the law, all these facts constitute statements made, ideas and theories disseminated, or activities inciting violence, hatred or discrimination, provoking the commission of acts of terrorism or making apology for such acts," adds the prefecture.
Finally, the press release indicated that following the request of Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, the prefect of Sarthe has initiated a procedure to close this place of worship.
This information was confirmed by Darmanin on his Twitter account. "On my instructions, the prefect of Sarthe has initiated the closure of the Allonnes mosque, near Le Mans. The sermons there notably advocate "the use of armed jihad, death as a martyr, the commission of acts of terrorism and the use of violence," he wrote.
