French-Moroccan Comedian Yassine Belattar Detained Over Alleged Death Threats and Harassment

The Moroccan (and French) humorist Yassine Belattar was just taken into custody, this Tuesday, March 26, in Paris. Several complaints for death threats and harassment have been filed against him.
This procedure, according to AFP, is part of a preliminary investigation triggered following a complaint for death threats filed against him by the comedian Bruno Gaccio in January. He would also have threatened Gaccio’s family, former author of the Guignols de l’info.
In addition, the Moroccan humorist is notably accused of "humiliating or threatening behavior" by several people in the entertainment and media sphere in which he evolves.
According to Mediapart: "Four people described direct threats in statements, at least half a dozen people mentioned difficult professional relationships and two young women recounted conversations drifting towards innuendos or sexual allusions while they were looking for work".
And as if that were not enough, Bruno Gaccio is also suing Belattar for defamation, according to Le Monde, who writes in this sense: "the host would have called him a ’pointer’ (rapist) during a public dispute on social networks".
The humorist is currently at the police station in the 5th arrondissement of Paris to be heard by the police.
