French Military Chief Meets Moroccan Officials to Bolster Defense Cooperation

The Chief of the Defense Staff (CEMA), Army General François Lecointre met on Thursday with several Moroccan civilian and military officials. The strengthening of relations between the two countries was among the topics discussed.
General Lecointre met with the Delegate Minister in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi. The two personalities discussed the friendly relations and cooperation in various fields that bind the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic.
They expressed the wish to continue the cooperation in the same spirit and with the same determination, indicates a statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). The two officials also commented on the important role played by the two countries to promote stability and security.
Earlier on Thursday, the French General had met with the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR. This was in the presence of the French Ambassador to Morocco and the Defense Attaché at the French Embassy in Rabat. The discussions focused on the consolidation and strengthening of military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
The Chief of the French Defense Staff also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita. He plans to visit the Royal College of Higher Military Education in Kenitra and the Royal Military Academy in Meknes.
