French Interior Minister Visits Morocco to Boost Security and Immigration Cooperation

The French Minister of the Interior has been on a two-day working visit to Morocco since Thursday. During his stay, Gérald Darmanin will sign two bilateral cooperation agreements with his Moroccan counterpart, Abdelouafi Laftit.
As a prelude to the signing of these agreements, the two ministers will lead a working session on the agenda, including the issue of unaccompanied minors living in France, security cooperation, the fight against organized crime, illegal immigration and drug trafficking, given that the fight against terrorism is a common struggle for the two countries, Le360 reports.
In addition to the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin is to meet Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and will be received by the Head of Government, Saad-Eddine El Othmani.
The same source also indicates that the French minister will meet the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Taoufiq, who is responsible for the implementation of various projects related to the training of imams and preachers, the construction and rehabilitation of mosques, as well as religious cooperation with the rest of the African continent.
Finally, the French Minister of the Interior will visit the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat. He is to meet Mehdi Qotbi, President of the National Museums Foundation.
