French Imams Push Back on Government’s Stance on Islam and Same-Sex Marriage

In a statement, the Minister Delegate for Citizenship had indicated that the imams were going to "recognize", with the charter of Islam in France, the right for homosexual couples to marry. The reaction of the imams did not take long.
Responding to a question about the charter of principles for Islam in France, partially voted within the Muslim faith, the Minister Delegate for Citizenship had declared on LCI that "this charter is binding. [...] The idea is to say how we commit ourselves in the fight against homophobia? Does this mean that in the sermons, we will consider that two men have the right to love each other, to marry, as two women have the right to love each other and to marry, as the laws of the French Republic say
