French Foreign Minister to Visit Morocco Amid Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The French Foreign Minister is expected in Rabat this week. This visit is part of the high-level consultation that the two countries maintain, particularly since the fourteenth Franco-Moroccan high-level meeting, which was held in Paris in December 2019.
This meeting comes after that of the French Minister Delegate in charge of Foreign Trade and Attractiveness. Franck Riester is making a two-day working visit to Casablanca. It will be preceded by the arrival of the French Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, scheduled for October 15.
These various visits by members of the French government testify to the vitality of the relationship between the two countries since the 14th "Franco-Moroccan high-level meeting", which was held in Paris in December 2019.
In January 2020, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Lemaire, had visited the Kingdom. During his stay, the new joint France-Morocco production "pact" had been discussed between the two countries.
In February 2020, the meeting planned by Emmanuel Macron and King Mohammed VI had been canceled due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus.
