French First Lady Showcases Moroccan Designer’s Moccasins at Élysée Meeting

The French First Lady seems to have adopted the brand of Moroccan designer Mehdi Qotbi. After being noticed with the scarves and masks branded Qotbi, here she is again, proudly wearing moccasins decorated with patterns from the painter’s canvases during a meeting at the Élysée last Tuesday.
No doubt, Brigitte Macron is one of the celebrities for whom Mehdi Qotbi’s accessories are no longer a secret. She seems to be particularly interested in the works created by the Moroccan artist-painter. The president of the National Foundation of Moroccan Museums (FNM) was able to benefit from the collaboration of a Casablanca craftsman named Reda Elou, who is the head of Arkasn. According to Mehdi Qotbi, these shoes are intended to become collector’s items.
He said he was honored by Brigitte Macron’s interest in his person and his creations. "I am obviously very touched by the interest she shows in my creations," reports Jeune Afrique. "The First Lady has a great benevolence towards creators and artists, she is driven by the conviction that art and culture are the best vector of dialogue between civilizations and religions," Qotbi stressed.
Moreover, the purpose of the meeting between the two personalities is to see how the First Lady could support cultural exchanges between France and Morocco. "She has committed to supporting the collaboration between the major French museum institutions and the FNM, whose work for the promotion of art she has praised on several occasions."
