French Customs Seize 32 kg of Cannabis from Moroccan National Returning from Vacation

An individual was arrested on Saturday, January 4, by the Millau customs officers for transporting 32 kg of cannabis resin from Morocco. His trial is scheduled for February 12.
A big catch for the Millau customs officers. The defendant is a Moroccan living abroad, who was returning from his vacation in Morocco with his children and a great-aunt. He was arrested in his vehicle with 32 kilos of cannabis resin.
During his trial on Wednesday, January 8, the public prosecutor requested his detention pending his trial scheduled for February 12.
Before the criminal court, and facing the judges, the defendant admitted the facts and explained that he was returning from the holidays with a small quantity for his personal consumption. The MRE also specified that he had also received the proposal to bring back a little more in order to repay his debts and his many unpaid rents. "I should never have done that. It’s the first and last time I’ve trafficked," pleaded the defendant. He was therefore placed under judicial supervision, pending his trial.
