French Couple Stranded in Morocco Awaits Repatriation Amid Travel Restrictions

Arrived in Casablanca on March 10 to visit the far south of Morocco, a couple from Haut-Doubs find themselves confined in an apartment in El Mansouria. He hopes for repatriation to France which is slow to materialize.
"We were supposed to return on March 28... This is the third time we have booked flights: March 28, April 17 and June 2... Each time, the planes are canceled," explain the Haut-Doubs residents to L’Est Républicain. They are on the list of "French on vacation in Morocco" established by the Quai d’Orsay and the consulate in Casablanca.
In total, 30,000 people have been repatriated from Morocco to France via 150 flights since the entry into force of the state of health emergency and confinement. "By surfing the internet, we learn that there are a few planes repatriating French people. But on what criteria have they been selected and why so few planes are chartered to repatriate them?" wonder, in despair, the two Haut-Doubs residents.
According to the French embassy, no less than 5,000 French tourists were still waiting at the end of April to be able to return to France. The couple is one of them. He may call the airports and consulates in Rabat, Marrakech, Casablanca and Agadir, but to no avail.
While waiting for a probable repatriation, the couple draws their moral satisfaction from the exchanges they have with their children and grandchildren by videoconference, once a week.
