French Boxing Champion Jaoid Chiguer Dies at 35

French boxing champion Jaoid Chiguer of Moroccan origin died on January 25, 2021. He was 35 years old.
The lifeless body of the young Jaoid Chiguer was found in his training room in a gymnasium in Troyes (Aube). A heart attack would be the cause of his death.
The young Jaoid had an impressive sports career. He had won the bronze medal at the European amateur boxing championships held in Liverpool in 2008 in the welterweight category. During his participation in the Beijing Olympics the same year, the boxer was eliminated in the second round. In 2010, he was crowned French champion. He remained a coach at the Boxing Club of Troyes until his death.
Stunned by his disappearance, Tony Yoka paid tribute to his friend on Instagram. "Time goes by so fast. We’ve been through good and bad times together. Always helpful and in a good mood. I’m stunned by your passing today. We saw each other a year ago for the young people in your club and I can’t realize that it was the last time. Thank you for all your advice and for what you did for others. Rest in peace my brother Jaoid Chiguer," he wrote.
