French-Born Man Finally Granted Citizenship After Years-Long Battle

Born in France to Moroccan parents, Loutfi Chakhs never managed to obtain French nationality. After battling with the administration for many years, he has finally received a positive response from the prefecture, the media coverage of his case having perhaps played in his favor.
It is a happy outcome for the native of Perpignan: he is now French. After several years of struggle, Loutfi will be able to enjoy his rights. By email, the judicial court of Perpignan invited him next week to collect his certificate of nationality.
The 20-year-old young man did not hide his relief and joy. "I am summoned on October 20 at 10:30 a.m. before the judge to receive my French nationality certificate. I no longer believed in it, I will finally be able to live normally, like all the French," he rejoiced, adding: "I felt an intense happiness and immense honor."
For a long time, the young Moroccan, who was born and lived in France, had his application rejected by the French authorities. A situation that this young man denounced, he who will have to take his baccalaureate next June.
