French Authorities Seize 810 Kilos of Moroccan Cannabis, Arrest Two Suspects

The gendarmes of the Research Section of Montpellier succeeded in arresting two suspected drug traffickers and seizing 810 kilos of Moroccan cannabis resin and several firearms.
These gendarmes started their investigations after receiving information from the Judicial Pole of the National Gendarmerie of Cergy-Pontoise concerning a case of "importation and trafficking of narcotics from Spain to France", based in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
On a rogatory commission from the investigating judge of Perpignan, they carried out surveillance and tailing, which allowed them to identify a man suspected of receiving large quantities of narcotics imported from Morocco via Catalonia and storing them in a warehouse located in the Perpignan-south area, towards Saleilles. Two unloads were to be carried out in this warehouse under surveillance.
The investigators went to the scene on October 26th. The judicial operation was a success. A quantity of 810 kilos of cannabis resin packed in the form of "Moroccan suitcases", 34,000 euros in cash and several firearms, including an assault rifle of the Kalashnikov type, were seized. The gendarmes also managed to arrest two suspected drug traffickers.
Pending the continuation of the investigation, the two suspects were brought before the court, indicted and incarcerated.
