French and Moroccan Air Forces Mark Decade of Training Partnership

Ten years ago, the air forces of the Moroccan gendarmerie signed a cooperation agreement with their French counterparts. The anniversary of this partnership has allowed to recall the various achievements that have been carried out and the prospects for the years to come.
The bilateral agreement provides that the French gendarmes train the Moroccan pilots on instrument flying and the flight crew on aeronautical English (FCL 055). The mountain flight center of the national gendarmerie, based in Briançon, is a recognized center of expertise internationally that trains and tests crews for high-altitude interventions, reports gendinfo.fr.
During this period, four training sessions have been organized each year in the High Atlas (4,167 m). This was an opportunity for the pilot instructors and mechanic instructors of the Hexagon to share with the crews of the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie their flight and winching techniques in a hostile environment, under extreme conditions.
In the future, the two air forces have planned to extend this cooperation, by broadening the scope of the training, through the very soon signing of a new partnership protocol.
