French Air Traffic Rebounds as Morocco Reopens Borders, DGAC Reports

The reopening of Moroccan borders has had a positive impact on air traffic in France. Traffic saw a slight rebound in February 2022.
"The traffic observed in February 2022 in French airports corresponds to 63.4% of that observed during the same month in 2019: this is 12.3 points better than in January, and a "return to scores close to those observed at the end of 2021", notes the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) in its statistical bulletin. As for international traffic, it stands at 60.4%, an improvement of 14.4 points over the previous month. The most sustained progression is recorded on Africa (+19.7 points), "following the reopening of Moroccan borders to air travelers", specifies the DGAC.
In February 2022, the price of airline tickets departing from France also increased. The price is 7.0% higher than in February 2021, all destinations combined. Since the beginning of the year, the increase is 6.3%, it is specified.
