French Air Traffic Controller Strike Disrupts Flights to Morocco and Beyond

Due to the strike by French air traffic controllers launched against the pension reform, several airlines have been forced to cancel their flights departing from France, including some to Morocco, on Thursday.
In a statement, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) had asked airlines to reduce their flight schedule by 20% at Paris-Orly. It had also urged passengers to anticipate their arrival at the airports, reports Air Journal.
As a result, several dozen flights have been canceled on Thursday from Orly. Thus, Transavia France has canceled departures to Montpellier, Algiers, Perpignan, Lisbon, Brest, Marrakech, Tunis. Royal Air Maroc, also heavily affected, has canceled its flights to Casablanca. Air France, EasyJet, Air Algérie, Vueling, Iberia, Air Europa, ITA Airways or TAP Air Portugal among others are also affected this morning at Orly.
Regarding access to airports, the DGAC has urged travelers to favor public transportation in Paris in particular, on the RER B which runs to CDG and Orly. A train every two hours is planned during peak hours and a train every three hours during off-peak hours, with SNCF interconnection interrupted at Gare du Nord.
