French Actor Gérard Lanvin Defends Morocco Move, Discusses New Projects

French actor and singer Gérard Lanvin returned on Sunday to the reasons why he chose to settle in Morocco. The guest of Laurent Delahousse on France 2 took the opportunity to defend his first album, Ici-bas, and his next film Envole-moi, to clarify his family situation.
Gérard Lanvin is a big name in French cinema, even if lately he has been the subject of a lot of criticism. On Sunday on the set of 20h30 on France 2, he not only talked about his two upcoming artistic projects, the first with his son Manu Lanvin, and the second, with Victor Belmondo, the grandson of Jean-Paul Belmondo. The actor and family man took the opportunity to settle his accounts with those who think that his decision to spend more time in Morocco than in France is a way to avoid paying taxes.
"I don’t live in Morocco, I live between Morocco and France, because we need warmth, we are people from the South. And when I’m not working, I’m in Morocco. And when I’m working, I’m in France. So I pay my taxes in France," he declared to the somewhat embarrassed presenter. "I say that for all those who are a bit obsessed with it!" adds the actor-singer. "They’re angry on social media? You hate that," asks Laurent Delahousse. "Me, I don’t look at social networks, so they can drool on me, it’s not my problem! But on the other hand, I have rumors that come to me," he concluded firmly.
On May 21, 2021, Gérard Lanvin will release his first album, Ici-bas, composed by his son Manu Lanvin. "It was not towards my son that I was a priori attracted, it was towards the artist, because I have a deep respect for his work and today he has produced this album and I am very proud to be his first client as a producer," Gérard Lanvin confides in front of his very moved son.
