French Actor and Snapchat Star Detained in Morocco Over Controversial Video

Franco-Algerian actor Brahim Bouhlel and Franco-Moroccan Snapchatter Zbarbooking have been placed in detention for their involvement in the sexist video in which Moroccan children were humiliated. The information was made public by the President of the Moroccan Lawyers’ Club, Me Mourad El Ajouti, in a tweet.
In another tweet that was deleted a few hours later, the President of the Moroccan Lawyers’ Club had indicated that an international arrest warrant had been issued against Hedi Benchenafa, a Franco-Algerian actor, also involved in the incriminating video. He would have fled when the video began to generate reactions in Morocco.
But what is it really about? While they were filming in Morocco, the three accused filmed a video while intoxicated and under the influence of drugs, according to the statements of the actor Benchenafa himself. In the widely circulated video, they made defamatory, degrading and insulting remarks towards Moroccans, particularly women. They are also accused of using, without consent, images of three children who were arguing using rather serious words.
The Moroccan Lawyers’ Club had condemned "the hateful, abject and racist remarks made against the children of Morocco by pseudo-humorists/influencers" and several French rappers and artists reacted to this video expressing their total rejection of these remarks.
