Franco-Moroccan Terror Convict Stripped of French Citizenship

The government has stripped a Franco-Moroccan, convicted in 2018 for participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing a terrorist act, of his French nationality.
Nour-Eddine Benyatto has lost his French nationality. This deprivation of nationality was pronounced by a decree published on Friday in the Official Journal. The Franco-Moroccan had been arrested in 2016. This man from Oujda (Morocco) was no longer seen in Miramas where he lived between late 2013 and mid-2014. He is said to have gone to Syria, where he would have joined the ranks of the Islamic State (IS) organization. Allegations rejected by Nour-Eddine Benyatto.
According to a judicial source, the Franco-Moroccan had been sentenced on appeal on December 6, 2018 to eight years in prison, with a two-thirds security period, with continued detention for terrorist criminal conspiracy.
