France’s Visa Restrictions Spark Outcry from Franco-Moroccan Associations

In response to the drastic reduction of visas by France to Morocco and other countries, a collective of associations has described this decision as "electoralist" and "overbidding on the backs of North Africans".
Some 85 French and North African associations have expressed their discontent with the stigmatization of Franco-Moroccans and migrants in general.
In a statement, "these French" denounced the recurrent treatment of migrants, particularly by the French authorities and the candidates in the race for the Elysée in search of the electorate.
Referring to the measure made public last week, the collective declared that, "indeed, can we read there, at each electoral period, the same insistent music is orchestrated: migrants would be the source of France’s problems!", an allusion to Eric Zemmour and certain bigwigs of the far right who "call for the purity of the French race".
The signatories point the finger at Emmanuel Macron who has taken advantage of this "nauseating climate" to outbid certain populist and xenophobic remarks made by arsonist firefighters and which cannot be the reflection of France.
This measure once again targets a population that has always been stigmatized, laments the collective.
