France Urges Citizens Abroad to Exercise Caution Amid Anti-Macron Protests in Muslim Nations

France has called on all its nationals around the world to be cautious, advising them to stay away from the various anti-Macron demonstrations.
The remarks of French President Emmanuel Macron on Islam have provoked strong reactions from the Muslim community. The call to boycott products from the hexagon has been heard in many countries.
While the campaign is limited to certain food products, the backlash against the president does not seem to be waning. Several demonstrations have been organized around the world, notably in Turkey and Bangladesh.
Iran and Pakistan have summoned the respective ambassadors of France, while in Morocco, Jordan and Algeria, a "virulent campaign" against Islam is mentioned. Legal action would even be considered by the president of the Council of Muslim Elders, the imam of Al Azhar.
For the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, "it should shock each of us that foreign powers think that the Muslims of France belong to them".
