France Tightens COVID Rules for Unvaccinated Travelers from Morocco

In Montpellier and throughout France, unvaccinated Moroccans returning from Morocco must present a compelling reason, a PCR test less than 48 hours old and will have to isolate themselves for ten days.
While Morocco is on the red list, the prefecture of Hérault has strengthened health checks on arrival of planes at the airport to cope with the surge in Covid-19 cases. Some travelers, like those from Morocco, must also undergo antigen tests, reports Midi Libre.
"The department is more than concerned by the Covid epidemic," said Hugues Moutouh, prefect of Hérault, present at the airport, to boost the morale of the staff in charge of carrying out the antigen tests for people arriving from a country classified as red.
On Tuesday, Moroccans returning from Fez were subjected to this drastic protocol, the newspaper reports, adding that as they entered the airport, three people from the Sdis 34 were ready to perform antigen tests. "This is a request from the prefecture. Six to seven people from the Sdis 34 are mobilized, every day at the airport," said Sylvain Besson, deputy director of the SDIS of Hérault.
As for the Moroccans, the wait in the airport corridors is exasperating. Like Fatima, a Moroccan from Fez, it is incomprehension that dominates. "I don’t really understand this protocol. I had a PCR test before taking the plane, so I don’t see why I should isolate myself. But well, we don’t have a choice." Pregnant, she does not plan to get vaccinated before giving birth.
